Crafting & Creating
As you may or may not know I am very much into crafting and it is my favourite hobby. I like to sew, embroider, make cards and decorations with my Cricut machine and of course draw. I have not been able to craft all summer because all my crafting things were in Britain and I couldn't well carry around all my crafting things around. Now that I have returned and am back into the routine I can finally start again and I am over the moon about it.
My first project I tried to do was to make a Thanksgiving banner for my Friendsgiving coming up but that went terribly wrong. I need to clean my mat and get a new blade for it I am also very much out of practice for creating things on my Cricut. I decided then rather than get frustrated I would do something else and decided to embroider a small October piece surrounded by branches, autumn leaves and pumpkins . I needed something small to ease my way into it but it is turning out alright so far. To see the half finished project check out my Instagram (@Canadian_Hygge) and I have also posted it here.
With doing my hobby I have a small crafting room at the top of the stairs with a skylight and a big light up top for me to see everything. With it being a small space I had to make the most of it and make sure it was Hygge otherwise I wouldn't want to craft as often. Having a candle burning is the first step to making it Hygge, having a drink either a cup of tea or a glass of wine helps as well. The last step is to play a chill playlist or great podcast and just singing along or listening. Let me know if you would like me to link some of my favourite Spotify playlists. I also always clean up my crafting room afterwards because I hate the mess and want to start off my next crafting session with a clean room and where everything is in its place.
I will be writing more this week it was hectic last week with university and the play I am in but I will have more time this week!
Happy Hygge!
