My Favourite Chocolate Chip Cookies
Is there anything better than the smell of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies? Well eating them is better of course especially fresh out of the oven. I have baked these cookies many times and can whip them up at a moments notice in case I need something for guests or to bring something when we are invited over to someones house.
I have tried many chocolate chip cookies over the years and this recipe is by far my favourite. It is from Magnolia Table by Joanna Gaines (link for the great cookbook below) and they are a big hit for my friends and family alike.

Ingredients & Tools
Baking Sheets
Parchment Paper
Medium Mixing Bowl
Stand Mixer or Hand Mixer
2 1/2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
1 Heaping Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon of Sea Salt
8 Tablespoons (1 Stick) of Unsalted Butter, At Room Temperature
1 Cups of Packed Light Brown Sugar
2 Large Eggs
1 1/2 Teaspoons of Pure Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 Cups of Chocolate Chips
Instructions
Position a rack in the centre of the oven and preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In the mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment (or in a large bowl with a handheld electric mixer), beat the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, 2-3 minutes. All the eggs and beat until blended. Add the vanilla and beat until blended.
Turn the mixer off and add the dry ingredients mixture to the bowl. Mix on medium just until the flour is mixed in, then turn the mixer to a high speed for a few seconds to pull the dough together, it should be chunky.
Add the chocolate chips to the bowl and beat on high for a few seconds to throughly and quickly mix in the chips.
Drop by large spoonfuls onto the baking sheet, do not flatten them. Bake until lightly brown on top, 10 to 11 minutes. Cool on the pan on a rack for 1 minute, then transfer cookies to the rack to cool completely.
Store the fresh chocolate chip cookies in a tightly covered container at room temperature.
Makes about 40 cookies
I hope you enjoy making and enjoying these cookies as much as I do! Serve with a glass of milk, cup of tea or coffee (maybe with a little Baileys in it).
Happy Hygge!
