First Days of School
This week was my first couple of days of school and it was a great two days. They call it induction week in the England and not frosh week. Waking up early still a bit jet legged is not easy but I was so excited I leaped out of bed and got ready for the day. I made sure to pack everything and get my outfit ready for the day. My Mum used to take my sisters and my photo on the first day of school every year and I wanted to continue the tradition.
The first day started a little rough by the bus being a few minutes late but I arrived on time even though I walked all the way around the cathedral and didn't realize there was a shortcut until my professor showed it to me. Without being too specific I am taking art in school with a major part of it being drawing. For the first day we had an introductory presentation from the president of the university and went through the course as well as all the health and safety stuff. Today we had more fun and when we first got in this morning we set up in a circle with the drawing tables and were doing a life drawing. Of course it is timed and then the fire alarm went off and it wasn't a test. Once we got back in we were booked into the library to get set up with our computer logins and all the resources the library has to offer. Afterwards we were back in the studio and were presenting our summer projects. I decided to do the goddess Hel daughter of Loki and we were to present and critique our work. It was very nerve racking but everyone had constructive criticism on how to make our work better for the future.
With school it wasn't an easy decision to make but one I am very happy with. Between getting funding, all my paperwork for school and my visa and getting here it has been a very stressful summer but now that I am here I am very pleased and eager to take on this new challenge. A new chapter in my life is beginning and I can't wait to see what the semester entails.
Until then Happy Hygge!
