Just Relax!
Just relax! For myself I find it hard to just sit back, relax and not do anything, there is always something to be done whether it be school assignments, cleaning, cooking, decorating or anything else that needs to be done. Making the time to sit back and relax for a bit takes some effort on my part but it is well worth it.
Sundays are date days for my boyfriend and myself and each week we alternate who plans the day. This past week has been so hectic and crazy we decided to stay in, I made a big pot of spaghetti with homemade garlic bread and we opened a bottle of red wine and watch a film which was my pick so I chose Girl, Interrupted. When we finished the film we were tired so we decided to go to bed and rewatch The Crown in anticipation on the new season in November. At night as well rather than going on my phone I have made it a habit to start reading before bed whether it be a magazine or a book it doesn't matter I just like to curl up and get away from the screen for a little bit.
Candles are my best friend when I am trying to relax. When I'm in Canada I prefer the Bath and Body Works scented candles but in the United Kingdom I like the Yankee Candles. Next is to make a cup of tea or glass of wine. There are a few things I like to do to take it easy one of my favourite things to do is watch reality television, it is mindless and I like to follow along all the drama because it isn't happening to me! Sitting around talking with my boyfriend or a group of friends at our house, their house or at the pub is another great way to relax and blow off some steam. As I have mentioned before I am not a morning person at all. When I don't have anything to do in the mornings I like to have a lie in and James brings me coffee in bed a lot of the time. We usually sip our coffee and chat for awhile or watch a bit of television before the day starts and we have to get out of bed.
If you can afford it or have health benefits I highly recommend going for a massage. When I had benefits through my employer I went quite often and its an hour of pure bliss. I also enjoy getting a manicure and pedicure once in awhile. I take a me day and make sure I get a takeaway coffee, go for a nice walk and then get my mani pedi, I only do this once or twice a year but I really like going and always look forward to my me day.
Crafting is one of my hobbies and another one of the ways I relax. I enjoy making things with my Cricut machine, embroidery and sewing. I always have ideas for new decorations that I make, gift ideas and just fun or funny things that I enjoy making. I am very much looking forward to making more Hallowe'en decorations this year to put up around our house and more crafts for my Etsy store. I am very much into Hallowe'en and October is my favourite month.
What is your favourite thing to do to relax? Let me know!
Happy Hygge!
