The Wonderful Time Between Christmas & New Years

Now it is that lovely time of year between Christmas and New Year where time doesn't matter and can be the most relaxing time of the year. Towards the Christmas holidays it is so crazy no matter how much you prepare. James and I spent the last few weeks being crazy busy trying to get everything done and seeing to our social obligations throughout the holidays. There was the Christmas shop, wrapping presents, Christmas baking and meeting at the pub.

We had a wonderful Christmas, ate too much, drank too much but had a wonderful time. As mentioned before in my previous posts I love to decorate and the house was very festive. For starters on Christmas Eve we got some beers and had charcuterie for dinner. We like to spend some time with our Discord friends so went on and stayed up far too late but had such a wonderful time laughing and shooting the shit.

On Christmas Day we woke up early (for us anyways) and opened presents. James did something so wonderful and sweet so I am now a Lady of Scotland, it melted my heart and was such a unique and amazing gift. I cooked some waffles and we had coffee and baileys for breakfast. Being in Britain we of course had to watch the King's Christmas speech, Father Ted and Only Fools & Horses which we had some Bucks Fizz while watching, now for those of you who don't know Bucks Fizz is a pre-bottled carbonated drink that is a mix of champagne and orange juice. Before we knew it it was time to make dinner and we cooked a traditional Danish Christmas dinner with roast pork, caramel potatoes, mashed potatoes, veggies, gravy and the crackle.

Now that Boxing Day is here and all the craziness is done we can finally relax and chill. We slept in today and did NOTHING! It was a great day to relax on the couch, watch trash tv and hang out with each other.

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and will write about my New Years prep before we welcome 2023.

Happy Hygge!
